Womens' NCAA All-Americans

24 former Under Armour All-Americans have been selected to 2009 Division I collegiate All-American teams. 13 players were named to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd teams while 11 other athletes were named to the regional teams.

Syracuse and Northwestern Crowned NCAA Champions

19 former Under Armour All-Americans have been crowned NCAA Division I Champions. On the womens' side, Northwestern won their fifth straight National Championship over North Carolina 21-7 as 12 Wildcat players are former UA All-Americans. Two UA All-Americans had a big hand for the Wildcats, as Danielle Spencer had 4 goals and 1 assist, and Brooke Matthews pitched in 3 goals. Three former All-Americans for UNC got in the books as Jenn Russell scored 2 goals and assisted on another, while Megan Bosica and Corey Donohoe each added a goal.

Syracuse scored four straight goals to beat Cornell in an overtime thriller, 10-9. The defense was held tight by goaltender John Galloway who had 10 saves. Josh Amidon assisted on 2 goals and added 1 goal, while Javon Miller had an assist. 7 players on the Syracuse roster have played in the Under Armour All-America Event. Roy Lang for Cornell pitched in a goal for the Big Red.

Congratulations to all of the UA All-Americans for a great season, and to those 19 athletes who have helped their teams to a National Championship.

Final Four and Mens' College All-Americans

Congratulations to the 72 former Under Armour All-Americans who have made it to the Final Four in the Mens' and Womens' Divison I Championships. On the Mens' side 37 UA All-Americans represent Virginia(20), Duke(8), Syracuse(7), and Cornell(2). For the Women, 35 Under Armour alumni will see action this weekend for Northwestern(12), North Carolina(11), Maryland(8), and Penn(4).

UA All-Americans Continue Play in the Post Season

NCAA Tournament
27 of the 32 Division I teams in the Mens' and Womens' NCAA Tournament are represented by former Under Armour All-Americans, including 15 of the 16 teams in the Mens' tournament. 12 Womens' teams have Under Armour All-America alumni with the top eight seeds all represented.

Tewaarton Award Update
Caitlyn McFadden (Maryland), a 2006 Under Armour All-American, has been named a top five finalist for this years Women's Tewaarton Trophy. The 9th annual award will be presented on May 28, 2009.

ACC All-Conference

As the ACC tournament gets underway today, the Conference awards are being handed out. Five of the 11 players named to the first team played in the Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic, including: Max Quinzani(Duke,Attack), Max Schmidt(Maryland,Defense), Ryan Young(Maryland,Attack), Shamel Bratton(Virginia,Midfield), and Brian Carroll(Virginia,Midfield). Steele Stanwick of Virginia was also named ACC Rookie of the Year.

Rankings Update

In the new USILA poll, 15 of the top 20 teams have Under Armour All-Americans on their rosters. Princeton, the number 1 team in the nation has 11 former UA All-Americans, while Virginia at number 2, has 20 UA All-Americans on the roster.

17 of the top 20 women's teams in the IWLCA/Under Armour poll feature Under Armour All-Americans on their rosters. Northwestern, the number 1 team has 12 UA All-Americans on the team.

Men
Duke 15 - Virginia 10
Zach Howell (2,2), Max Quinzani(4,0), and Justin Turri(3,2) each had big days as the Blue Devils handed Virginia their first loss of the season. Steele Stanwick scored 3 goals and assisted on another, while Shamel and Rhamel Bratton each had 1 point a piece. Adam Ghitleman made 7 saves on the day.

Princeton 10 - Harvard 9
Tyler Fiorito made 15 saves to hold off the Crimson in the Ivy League match-up. Chris McBride added 3 goals and an assist in the win, while his cousin Jack McBride scored 2 goals. On the lossing end Dean Gibbons led Harvard with 3 goals, and Jeff Cohen added 1 goal.

Johns Hopkins 10 - Maryland 9
Kyle Wharton led all scorers with 3 goals and 1 assist as Hopkins held on to beat Maryland in the 105th game of this rivalry. Michael Gvozden came up big with 12 saves in the game. Chris Boland and Max Chautin each had 1 goal, while Chris Boland went for 4 points (2,2) on the day. Maryland. Grant Catalino and Ryan Young each had 3 points in the game. Travis Reed added a goal and an assist. Brian Phipps made 11 saves in 60 minutes of action.

Women
Maryland 13 - North Carolina 8
Caitlyn McFadden scored 2 goals, while Brandi Jones assisted on 3 goals for Maryland as the Terps improved to 14-0. Jennifer Russel(2,1), Kristen Taylor(1,1), and Megan Bosica(3,0) led the way for the Tar Heels.

Penn 7 - Darmouth 6 (OT)
Erin Brennan(1,2) had the game winning assist in overtime as the Quakers beat Dartmouth. Ali DeLuca added 2 goals and 2 assists in the win. Sarah Plumb added a goal for the Big Green in the loss.
