Men
Mike Kimmel scored his only goal of the game in overtime as Hopkins avoided the upset defeating Notre Dame 11-10 on Saturday. Steven Boyle scored once for the Blue Jays, while Will Yeatman had two assists for the Irish.
Max Quinzani had two goals in Duke's 18-3 triumph over Providence.
Michael Burns had three goals as North Carolina advanced to round two defeating Duke, 12-8.
Brian Farrell dished out an assist for Maryland, which was upset by UMBC 13-9.
UA All-Americans combined for six of Georgetown's nine goals in its OT win over Princeton. Craig Dowd had three, Andrew Brancaccio had two (and an assist) and Scott Kocis had one.
Women
Kaitlin Duff had two goals and two assists and Brittany Kalkstein had two goals and an assist as Virginia sent Princeton home by the score of 19-10.
In the upset of the tournament thus far, Halley Quillinan scored one of Syracuse's 16 goals in its defeat of Vanderbilt, 16-10.
